For future reference, how should I know to know if it's a stand-alone? It just looks like a special for the series ("Genshiken 2: Menma Special"), also if I knew earlier that my entry was invalid I would've done it, but I was busy with previous commitments last night. |

The way they are listed on MAL usually reflect these things. That one isn't listed as side story/special of the main series, but as "other". In the same manner you can see the adaptations for both are different (there it's listed as a Spin-off). Alternatively asking here or discord should help. Fair enough, one of the downsides of this. |
